Wild Goose Chase Week 3

Tomorrow is week 3 of the Wild Goose Chase series! I don;t know about anybody else but this has been a great series for me as I begin a new year, a new season of ministry at Renovation… I really do feel like my journey over the last few years has been a wild goose chase and I am so thankful to God for that. It has not always been comfortable, easy, predictable, popular, but it has been an ADVENTURE!

This week has reminded me of just what a BIG God we serve and live for. Thursday and Friday I got to hang out with some other pastors who have been gathering together for the last year (08) envisioning this question: What does God want for the city of Buffalo, the state of NY, America and the world? and the following question: What would it look like?

We believe based upon what Jesus told His followers then and for us now… to go into all of the world…!

We believe collectively that the mission that God is on for humanity is that every man, woman and child would come back into a relationship with Him. We believe that the Church (people following Christ) should be about trying to reach every man woman and child with repeated opportunities to hear and to see, feel, touch, experience the Good News of Jesus Christ and to let them either receive or reject that relationship in our circle of influence and accountability.

We as a group of pastors are asking God to help us strategize and to imagine how we could try to make sure over the next 10 years that all 1.3 million people who make up WNY have had just such an experience.

We know that it will take the whole CHURCH at Buffalo to accomplish this task. It will take existing and new churches to accomplish it. What would happen to this city if the LIGHT of Jesus Christ was exposed to such a degree?

What would happen to our city? Where darkness and evil rule there would come a new day, a new light, a new way. Could we pray, should we pray that Buffalo as my new friend Pastor Matt Brown says “become the first TRANSFORMED” city in our country?!

Now that is a Wild Goose Chase worth joining!

See you tomorrow as we walk out of the cage of Assumptions!
