We Have Been So Blessed!

Man what a way to send October out! It was beautiful today – my yard thinks it's spring time – I am sure that will change rather quickly!

We had our fourth gathering of Men's Fraternity today – we really started  talking about how we can climb the "Authentic Manhood Mountain" today. We talked about how  every man is carrying around a suitcase with him that represents his past and all the experiences both good and bad that he has had. We said his ability to really climb that Authentic Manhood mountain would be predicated on whether or not we can take care of the unfinished business that is in our "suitcase." We have all had physical injuries that leave scars but we also have emotional injuries that leave emtional scars. We talked about 5 wounds that are common to men and unless we stop and deal with those wounds we will never reach our full potential that God wants for us. We will be meeting again next Wed morning at 6:15-7:30 at the IHOP on Delaware and Hertel. Come if you can!

My family and I have been so blessed by the gifts and notes of appreciation that we have received during Pastor Appreciation month this past month – thank you all for your love, prayers and support. We love the people that God has brought to Elmwood.Laughing

Looking forward to having Michelle Stockton joining the team next week. Adding her skill set will allow us to to take some steps forward in several areas that I have been waiting to initiate because if we started some things without the proper infrastructure in place we would not be able to sustain them.

We will NOT have a Family Night down at the Buffalo Christain Center this month.

We will be back at PS 65 next wednesday for our second program of the year. We need some muscle to help load in the sound gear – if you are available to help do some heavy grunt work next Wednesday afternoon give us a call – 819-4100.

We will also be helping provide a special thanksgiving program at Prince of Peace Church on the Westside on November 14 – we are doing a coat drive the next two Sundays so that we can take as many coats with us to give to the kids that night!

This Sunday is week 8 in our STARTING POINT SERIES and we finally get to the HERO. We will be taking a look at what God did for us in a very powerful way. I think this might be the most powerful Sunday since we launched! You will not want to miss it and if you can bring someone who has yet to cross over that line into a realtionship with Jesus Christ this Sunday may help them really see what God did on our behalf and their need for a SAVIOR!
