We Did It!

We did it! Earl and the combined KW team from both Crosspoint and Elmwood did two great programs today. The first was at Covenant Christian in Tonawanda and then this afternoon at Roosevelt PS #65. I was so proud of everybody and the hard work that everybody contributed to pulling a program like this off. The kids at PS #65 went crazy. They laughed so hard that we all started laughing at their great response. Principal Mathews announced to the school and those parents in attendance that we were forming a partnership which was so cool to hear her say to all the teachers and kids.

We gave them all of the school supplies that everybody brought in! Principal Mathews told all of the teachers that if they had a student who needed supplies from now on they would have a solution for those kids because of the generosity of The Chapel at Elmwood. How stinking cool is that! Cool

My ‘cup’ was running WAY over today. I was just thanking God that He has brought together people in such a short time who are pouring out their gifts, abilities, resources to help our community and to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

I want to thank everybody for helping with the school supply drive, it was a great success. We also gave the teachers their little gift – an Elmwood Expressions coffee mug with a Tim Horton’s gift card – they were all very happy to receive it and extremely appreciative of the simple gesture of appreciation.

After that went I over and checked out the facility and ministry of Hearts for the Homeless www.heartsforthehomeless.com I was blown away as I heard how Ron and Peg Calandra serve every week the poor and the needy in so many different ways. They are the kind of people and ministry that we want to partner with. God has and continues to show His faithfulness to this ministry. So honored to get to know them and see how we as a new church body can partner with them.

I am really getting excited about our Starting Point Series that we are launching this week. We are going to be doing some things a little different during this series. I am going to try to make it more of a conversation than a message every week. We are going to do some interactive things through out this series. We are going to have different communicators talk to us via big screen during the ten weeks. Hopefully by the time we are through we will ALL be on more of a level field when it comes to our understanding of our place in HIStory!
