Time to Celebrate!

Next week is going to be a time to celebrate!

Got a chance to here a great discussion this evening down at Hamburg Wesleyan concerning the election of Barack Obama. Pastor Jeff Carter facilitated the discussion with mostly a panel of staff members from his church Ephesus Ministries.

Here are a few comments that I thought we enlightening:

Teachers can honestly tell children of color that if they study and work hard that they can be the President!

Children of color can for the first time see somebody at the highest level in our Country that looks like them!

Change is possible because of this election (200 years of the same color in the White House could make a person believe change is impossible)

It has made a difference in the hearts and minds of young African American men. One man’s 18 yr old son came off the streets and is determined to live a better life and to make something of himself. (Inspiring young men)

We need to be praying for the President Elect, his family, his staff, that God will use this man for His plans and purpose. We need to pray for his protection.

We had our second week of High School and Middle School Ministry going on tonight! We have a lot of work ahead of us as we begin to engage this generation for Christ. Please be praying for Josh, Earl, Sean, Andy and the many others who are helping lead this ministry.
