The Snow Keeps Coming!

Wow and the snow keeps coming! We haven’t had this much snow since our first winter in Buffalo which was 01/02…you know the winter we had 84 inches in 4 days! Yea that was our first winter – welcome to Buffalo…yikes! That actually was pretty cool to experience of course that much snow in that few of days – what’s 15 or 20 inches!

We had a great meeting at Renovation House yesterday, we had several pastors and other ministry leaders from the West Side. We have been meeting since last September. This was a great follow-up meeting to strategize how we can take the 25 different groups that showed up two weeks ago at the Buffalo Christian Center…all of which are to help resource, equip, lead, help children and youth on the West Side. It is very exciting to see the Church on the West Side leading out in this area of need. It was also great to use the downstairs of the Renovation House to host the meeting. So proud to share with others what God has blessed us with…i tried to use the kitchen and I about burnt the place down…well it got very smokey in the kitchen. Not used to the settings on the stove and oven… so the bottom of the biscuits were a little burnt…it happens! Makes for good illustrations!

We had to cancel the MS and HS environments due to the weather tonight. To bad because we were gaining a little momentum the last few weeks. I am asking God that we can really begin to think, dream, plan to engage the students that are all around us. I have a few ideas that would allow us to begin to build relationships with kids but it will take mostly time, energy, people in which I think God has already given us all  that we need at Renovation to  see it happen…more of that in the days to come.

Getting excited about MarriedLife Live! Always one of my favorite environments that we do! Just a handful of tickets left better grab’em while you can. The music is going to be off the charts! I will give you just a couple of tunes we will be covering… one of my fav’s – Barry Whites Your My First Your My Last My Everything - Kenny Logins Whenever I Call You Friend – Paul McCartney Maybe I Amazed…

We had over 100 first time guest visit with us in just the 4 Sunday in January! That is incredible. For those who started your journey with us at Elmwood we had two rules that we tried to live called iRULES… remember we changed them the last week we met… now that we are Renovation Church those rules are now called rRULES – inVEST … building bridges relationally (not walls) so that we can one day inVITE them into a life changing/transforming relationship with Jesus Christ! So cool to see so many living those rules out every week!

If you don’t know I am a huge Duke fan… unfortunately they lost to a really good Wake Forest team tonight… getting closer to my favorite time of the year – March Madness.

Oh yea I was stopped by Dan the Man our SnowBlower Man yesterday. He informed me that I had made a BIG mistake on my last blog post… he did not retire from FedEx but UPS.. whoops my bad Dan. Reminded me of my worst job I had in college – unloading the UPS trucks during the Christmas Holidays… it was the 4:00 Am – to 8:00AM shift … I hated every second of that job, it kept me in college not because of the pay but because of the motivation!
