Sunday Night Rewind on Monday

It was great to have Scott Stockton (Director of GroupLife) speaking to us yesterday. He did a fantastic job talking about Enemy #2 Jealousy. Loved how he tied in the story of Jonah and how he was jealous of the Ninevites that they got from God what only he and the Nation of Israel should get… grace, mercy, long-suffering.

Jealousy is one of those enemies we don’t really talk about that lives in the darkness of heart and will stay there and grow stronger unless we move it to the light. Confess it to God and others and then celebrate the wins of those we are jealous of… I find when  I sense jealousy in my heart that when I pray that God will bless them and their efforts jealousy loses it’s grip in my heart.

Yes i get jealous… I was supposed to be 6’3″!

It was a little rainy yesterday and over-cast but i loved seeing our first time guest coming anyway!

I zipped over to our friends at Kenmore Alliance for a little bit during our 11.00 gathering. I love it when other pastors pop in and just show support so I wanted to return the favor. John Schurholtz is a dear friend and a great pastor. He has been such an encourager to me and I love what he and the leadership team is doing at their church.

I really believe that God wants to set many folks at renovation free from the enemies of our heart. Guilt… Jealousy… He will if we will do our part… surrender our heart for His.

Got a note yesterday from a lady that said she was a heroin addict… that she had been in and out of recovery programs but that she was going to head back into one and see if God would deliver her from its terrible grip… she wrote that maybe through surrendering her heart to God she could find healing… that is worth praying about Renovation… not only for her but for many in similar circumstances… let’s pray for each other this week.

The Church needs to be a hospital… a place for those who are broken, sick, tired, addicted… can find help, healing, love, grace, mercy.

Maybe we should call ourselves Renovation Hospital… where all our treated.
