Sunday Night Rewind

Thought I would post about today and the past week as I watch the closing ceremonies…

Can I just say WOW what a game the USA played against the our friends the Canadians!

It would be like the Canadian Basketball team beating the Dream Team once and then taking them to overtime before the Dream Team finally pulling it out! Way to go Ryan Miller!

We had a great finish to our series Fire Proof today…

Loving the energy that this series has created the last couple of weeks…

Love seeing new faces all over the place… that never gets old!

Loved singing a new song that Nick wrote this week… we are blessed to have him on the leadership team!

After the 11.00 gathering we had a great leadership meeting for all of our strategic leaders in Renovation Station. Joshua, Michelle, LuAnn are doing a great job of leading Renovation Station… so proud of them and so appreciative of every person in that area of ministry that is working hard to partner with families and making RS the place to be for kids in NW Buffalo on Sunday mornings!

Speaking of Joshua please keep he and his family in your prayers… His birth father passed away yesterday at the age of 49. Josh has an incredible story that is still being written… pray to give him wisdom as he helps lead his family through this time.

This past week was another week of first…

Tuesday night we had our first NW Community Action meeting. We had around 35 total counting staff…

It was an amazing experience for me to be able to hear from moms…dads… grandmothers… of how Peace of the CIty has had such a profound impact on their kids.

Hearing the honesty and vulnerability of moms stating how they are not sure how they are going to make it… how they are working on getting their GED… one mom age 36 saying she is determined to get her GED but how hard it is…

We filled up several big sheets of paper writing down ideas, thoughts, issues, problems that we get to be a part of helping find solutions to…

As we continue to go down this path of CCDA there is still so much to learn and to do but at least we are in the game… making progress even though we are just a year into this whole thing.

From a dad’s perspective this week had been pretty incredible… Carlee’s Basketball team won their championship game Thursday night! Then Caleb’s 5th grade team won their championship game today in a thriller… toping off a perfect 15 – 0 season!

Well that’s it for now… great day… great week… thanks God you truly are Great and Good!
