Sunday Night Rewind

Had a great day at Renovation today!

Today was our 2nd week in our series The Power of One.

This is a series targeted for those living single.

Here are few stats about living single in the USA

The Census Bureau shows that 100 million adults in the United States are unmarried.

Data also showed that unmarried adults continue to head up a majority of households in the nation.

Some 44.3 percent of adults are currently unmarried.   They include 12.2 million widows and 3 million widowers, as well as 25 million men and women who are divorced.  In addition, there are 32.8 million men and 27.1 million women who have never married.

The report showed that married couples headed a minority of households for the first time in U.S. history.

According to the 2006 American Community Survey, unmarried adults headed up some 50.3 percent of the nation’s households, as well as a majority of households in 22 states and more than 300 cities.

We started the series talking about building a foundation for all of our lives… not wasting our lives. I was turned on to the book Don’t Waste Your Life several years ago and it made a huge (still is) impact on my life so we got some insight from John Piper last week.                                                                   Today we talked about Going All the Way

How do we prepare ourselves to Go All the Way in our relationship with Jesus Christ and with possibly the one we marry!

Conventional (worldly) wisdom says in order to find the one we had better look in all the “right” places and focus on each other…

Jesus told us there is a correct order in relationships…

#1love God

#2 love others.

So our #1 (conventional wisdom) needs to become our #2. When we get the order right we have chance to go all the way.

Nick and Jeanine did and incredible job of leading us in worship! wow!

Joshua and the Renovation Station Team did a great job leading the parents and kids in our first of the month Family eXperience!

We had another day with a lot of visitors… that never grows old!

Got a chance to go to the leadership meeting that Joshua/Michelle/LuAnn put together for those who serve in Renovation Station… they did an outstanding job of creating a fun environment and casting vision for the team.

We are blessed at Renovation with a leadership team who loves God and people and who love serving and leading in this community. I think God for them all the time and you should also!

That’s it for now!
