Sunday Night Review 08

Well I am sitting here trying to catch my breath before jumping into another week. This week has been packed full of great little moments of encouragement, conviction, desperation, frustration, excitement, heartbreak… that is just in a week – does that sound like your week? It always amazes me what can happen in a course of a week… That is why our Father tells us to not put our trust in our ideas, thoughts plans but in Him – a lot can happen in a week.

Speaking of weeks we now have 2 Sunday’s left to say welcome to The Chapel at Elmwood if this is the first time you have ever come to church in a theater… I have to admit I am going to miss that.  I know the Makeover Team is happy for only two more set-ups and break-downs but I think we are all going to miss what has become “home” for us. It has been a great place but now the “Cloud” has moved just .7 of mile down the road. I know that there is an amazing journey and experience waiting for us to live out there but I thank God for how gracious He has been to us over these last 18 or so months.

This past Friday was a great “first” for us – Gloria and some ladies hosted our first Ladies Night Out at the Renovation House. By the looks of things it was a big success. Over a dozen ladies from the neighborhood came and got a chance to meet other ladies from Renovation. One thing i have discovered which is both a curse and a blessing – the ladies around St FLorian can flat out cook and bake! St Florians was a Polish Parish and along with a hard work ethic they know how to cook!

Many stories of how people have found their way to Christ through people inVESTING and inVITING have been shared over these past weeks as men, women, young and old have picked up a paint brush, a garbage bag, a hammer, a broom – community is being created at a deeper level for those who have taken the opportunity to help out in the renovating of Renovation Church. I know not everybody can physically help (most can) but everybody can cover all in prayer and petition before our Father God so please be diligent in this area of community involvement!

Forgot to tell everybody to bring your Turkey’s with you this Sunday for the City Mission Turkey Drive.

I got to go over and see the kids of Peace of the City perform over at Whitehaven Church on Grand Island today after our morning gathering. They did the same thing there that they did for us this past spring and it was very powerful! We are going to be able to host their first Christmas “Community” Party on Dec 16 as they invite the community surrounding Renovation Church to come and check out what is going on. They will be having food, music and a program that will be great… and we get to be a part of it all! I love it!

So good to see so many first time guest today.

I (we) have to get ready for a big adjustment – 2 Gathering Experiences starting Dec 7! We need everybody who calls Renovation/Elmwood home to join the “band” we miss out of so much that God wants us to experience when all we do is observe – join the fun – join the MISSION!
