Sunday Night Reflections

OK – My apologies for not posting all week and not letting everybody know. The past 10 days have been a blurrrrrr and I am just catching my breath tonight. I am going to try to rewind the past 10 days and and get myself caught up. Part of the reason I blog is for me – it helps me journal this incredible journey that I am on with so many different people!

  • We got back from our quick trip to W Palm Beach last Sunday night – it was Gloria's HS reunion – nice to go with the prettiest girl at the dance!
  • At Crosspoint we hosted (Mon-Wed) several dozen pastors form churches all over the country. This was our second gathering of what we are calling the Infinity Alliance which is a group of churches that are willing to take ownership for the lostness of America – over 301,000,000 people – to reach every man woman and child with repeated opportunities to hear and see the transforming message of Jesus Christ in our circle of accountability. We got to hear from a man named Dwight Smith that has seen God do some amazing things through out the world through the CHURCH. Stuff that will blow you away – the American Church has much to learn through our brothers and sisters through out the world.
  • One of the pastors on staff at a church in LA asked me how Elmwood was going and asked if we had been able to establish any partnerships with other churches or organizations. I got a chance to tell him how WE are partnering with PS 65 in Riverside and how we are beginning to establish a relationship with a few other churches who have a great need for resources of all kinds – he was blown away. After the next break he came up to me and gave me a check for $500 to give toward those partnerships – how cool is that!
  • Tuesday night at 10:00 a good friend jumped in the Trailblazer with me and helped me drive the 740 miles to Nashville to hang out with my youngest brother Thad. He had a big showcase Wed night. It was incredible – I was so proud and blown away by his passion/ability/talent that I saw on stage that night. This is his fourth CD project but it's his first gospel project. It is different than anything that is out right now and the lyrics are incredibly powerful and the melodies are wonderful. One of those great memories that we will always be able to share. The concert got over arounf 11:30 Central Time – 12:30 ET – we hung out for little bit and then jumped back in the Blazer around 1:oo and headed back to Buffalo – it rained all the way back to ErieFrown Got back around 2:30 in the afternoon.
  • Thursday night we had rehearsal for MLL. We have some new talent that we are going to unload on everybody and I got really excited after we went through all the songs we are going to do Friday Night. Don't miss it – if you like music you will love MLL!
  • Friday I tried to catch up on the week – we had three couples over for dinner and got to know them all a little better – which is always good!
  • Saturday morning we had Men's Breakfast over at CP. It was good to see some Elmwood dudes there!
  • Saturday afternoon I picked up a "whistle" for the first time in 9 years. I have volunteered to help coach the MS boys basketball team at my kids school – CCA or Christian Central Academy www.christianca.com - I had a good time – it all started coming back to me – pretty cool
  • Sunday Gathering – it was sooo good to be back today with everybody. I love what I do and I love who I get to do it with and I love to see what God is doing IN and THROUGH so many people.
  • We had 15 adult visitors – 227 adults – 73 in KW for a total of 300 today! That is pretty amazing. What I am really jazzed about is how we are going to leverage this growing community of faith to impact this city for Christ – the stories that one day will be told!!!
  • What a beautiful day – to top it off the Bills won!Cool
  • I hope everybody got their MLL tickets – you don't want to miss this event – call the office this week if you need tickets or more tickets!
