Sunday Night Reflections

Back up and ready to blog again! Sorry for those who like to hang out with me – our server crashed this week and knocked us offline but I think we are ready to go again. We had a great week, let me give you a guick run down!

  • Michelle Stockton started this past Monday and what a blessing and relief to have someone with her abilities and gift set to join the team. It has been tough while Jennifer has been out on maternity leave – we were mostly trying to survive week to week so it is good to have some help administratively. She also sings and helped me lead worship this morning!
  • This past Wed. we were back at PS 65 and we had a GREAT Time. Principal Mathews is an awesome lady and welcomed us again with open arms. Got to meet several teachers this time around who came up to me and they were thrilled with what we were doing. It is so incredible to see 380 kids laughing, singing, dancing around while we are teaching about UNIQUENESS. We have to really watch what we say so we don't jeopardize our opportunity to come in every month and put Principal Mathews in a bad situation. The team we had was awesome, we had Jim Dean and Bill Sullivan take off work and help us set up and break down – what a help that was. We had a mom and her two daughters, Anne, Elizibeth and Katelyn join Earl, Kendra, Jenna as they snag and danced with all the kids!
  • We had a great Men's Fraternity – talked about the Absent Father Wound and how that effects men their entire life. We will be having it again this week instead of Thanksgiving week. Men, let me encourage you to come out and join us as we go places most men never go!
  • I don't know that I have mentioned it but I am helping coach the 7/8 grade boys BBall team at my kids school Christian Central Academy. So we had our first preseason game on Saturday – we have a little work but it is fun to put the whistle back on and help some boys learn a little about Basketball, teamwork, accountability and such!
  • I had a tremendous gift given to me yesterday, a phone call to inform me that I had two tickets to see Keith Urban at HSBC on Saturday night. I took a little nap (terrible getting old) and Gloria and I went and heard Kieith put on a MONSTER Show! The boy can flat out play the guitar, his band was awesome. I love going to concerts hearing all kinds of great music!
  • We had a great day today. Just really sensed and felt the excitement of people coming for the first time and people returning to find out their place in HIStory! I can't believe we have just one more week in our Starting Point Series. 10 weeks is a long time to go through a series but it defintely has it's upside. We had some MakeOver Team members gone today so we had to work a little harder this morning to set up but everybody covered and we were ready to go! Can't say it enough – THANK YOU to all of our MakeOver Team you guys/girls ROCK. I know why you do it and most importantly God knows!
  • Bills Win – not sure how!
  • My APOLOGIES for not acknowledging our Veterans today. I want to always say thanks to those who served our country so that we can live in a free land!
