Sunday Night Reflections

OK, I can't believe it but this is the last Sunday Night Reflection of 07! Really cannot get over how quickly this year has passed by and all that has happened in it. I have been "reflecting" on the whole year and the incredible things that God has allowed to happen not just in our lives but in many others as well.

Today was a great way to wrap 07! The Elmwood Band was rockin it today and everybody was jacked up so it was awesome sharing the worship experience and hearing everybody passionately engage. There was several times as we were singing that as I thought about the words of a particular song I looked around and saw different men, women, students that God had stopped becoming just an idea but a real relationship over the past year. Real stories of life change that God has initiated in the hearts of people through out Elmwood is a GREAT thing to celebrate!

We had a lot of first time guest with us today, which is always a huge blessing that we never want to take for grant it. I know there were several who came back today after visiting with us last week – how cool is that?! It was great to have Dan and Gina Trippie and their boys with us - they are church planters in Nashville who are out of The Chapel family. They went to Nasville in the summer of 06 with Jamie George another Chapel family member to launch Journey Church a year later they joined forces with another plant to become Journey at Ecclesia www.journeyecclesia.com they are doing a great job of connecting with the culture and people in their circle of influence. They are now seeing some 600 – 700 men, women, children gathering every week to take another step in their relationship with God and others – the activity of God ALL over is an awesome thing to see!

It was really special to experience our first baby dedication today – having Alex, Jennifer and beautiful Amelia Rose and many of their family with us. We have some great and special "first" this year and this was one of the most special of them all for me. I am a firm believer in passing on a legacy, living with the end in mind. Seeing the grand daughter of a man of God like Pastor Andrews being dedicated by God loving, serving parents – inspire's me to keep at it!

There was a request from one of our special and greatly loved MakeOver Team members to list the song set for today and who sings the songs so here it is.

Life Is A Highway – Rascal Flatts, Wasted – Carrie Underwood, How Great I Our God – Chris Tomlin, Amazing Grace/Chains Are Gone – Chris Tomlin, Mighty To Save – Hillsong, Our God Saves – Paul Baloche, Live Like You Were Dying – Tim McGraw
