Sunday Night Reflections

  • We had another first today at Elmwood – our first "guest" communicator Earl Leatherland. Earl is our children's pastor and is doing an incredible job of training a growing army of volunteers to impact kids in and unforgettable way for Jesus Christ. We continued our ALMIGHTY series today with Jonah and Almighty. Earl did a great job unpacking a familiar story in a new way. Nobody will forget the kind fish that swallowed Jonah which is the same fish that swallows us today – "yourselFISH" We are so blessed to have Earl and his incredible wife Kendra serving with us. They are a family that loves God and others which is the definition that Jesus gave to us that defined what a disciple of His would look like.Laughing
  • It was great to be back home at Elmwood today. I have got to say that Nick and the band get better every week and I thought they were good from day one! They killed the veggie tales "In the Belly of the Whale" tune that the Newsboys did for the Jonah movie. I also love the new tune they taught us – Search Me, Know Me.
  • We had another strong group of first time guest which is ALWAYS exciting because that always means that people are following the iRULES – inVEST and inVITE. Can't wait to see what the fall has instore for us. Thanks for so many of you who have decided to get "INOLVED!" What a difference you are going to make in reaching and impacting hundreds of new people that will be walking though the Regal doors in the weeks to come.
  • Speaking of fall – can't believe that Labor Day is just two weeks away. I am as sad as the kids in some way but super-charged for what we are about to experience as a church. Plus all the summer parties will be over and I can get back into some kind of shape. This summer has killed me, I am going to have to rededicate myself to a healtheir diet and regiment.
  • If you are interested in the Costa Rico mission trip, I will try to get all of the updated info for us and post updates this week here on my blog. If you haven't started the process of securing a passport you better get on it first thing tomorrow or you might have to sit this one out.
  • Ladies there is a great opportunity for you and maybe some friends to experience a great retreat designed just for you through the Thrive Ladies ministry at the Chapel at Crosspoint, check out the link and all the info about fall Bible studies just for you at www.thrivewomen.com
  • Men don't feel left out. I have always had a strong passion to reach men, as men go so goes our families, cities and country. We will be partnering with the Finsh Strong men's minstry at Crosspoint for our monthly men's breakfast. This is always the third Saturday of the month and it is coming soon so mark your calendar for the third Saturday morning in September, more info to come!
  • It was cool to have Alex, Jennifer and little Amelia with us today, it made my daughter Carlee's daySmile
  • Don't forget to prepare for the battle that each of us will face as we roll out of bed – let's spend time developing our relationship with our Heavenly Father this week!

ECHOLOUD!
