Our Posture Matters

Hey Renovation we had an amazing day this past Sunday… it was an incredible day of worship in so many ways. We are experiencing some incredible momentum in several areas.

First and foremost I think we collectively have gained momentum in our desire/appetite for learning more about our God. I looked out Sunday during the table talk and saw almost everybody at every table with their journal notebooks out – taking notes – wanting to learn more about who God is and how He made us and wants to form us.

We have also seen some momentum in physical growth… Sunday we had over 220 adults in both the 9.19 & 11.00 gatherings with 76 kids in Renovation Station at 9.19. We have had to add tables for seating each of the last few weeks.

One issue that is coming out of the growth is the amount of children that are coming with parents into the aud at 11.00. We had about 25 kids this past week which makes that gathering a little more noisy than the 9.19. If you have children 5th grade on down I would encourage you to come to the 9.19 gathering so you can take advantage of the incredible resource of Renovation Station!

I am certainly encouraged by what is happening on Sunday’s but we have always said that it’s what happens in our week that is really so important. It is during our week that life plays out and we see in our lives if what we learn or experience on Sunday’s really takes root in us.

This past Sunday we talked about jumping off the deep end with our relationship with God…remember?

I encouraged everybody to take their journal page home this week and to make sure we walk through it during our time of prayer.

One of the things that we want to focus on during our prayer this week is our posture. Our posture matters because it can change our perspectives. If you lost the notes here they are again… I pray that we are having a great week in talking with our heavenly Father!

Read these passages through the week… learning from Jesus how to move from ‘having to’ – to wanting to pray.

Luke 3:21, 5:15-16, 6:12, Matthew 14:13, Mark 1:35,38, Luke22:31,39-42,9:29

Use your body and posture to help you turn your mind and heart to God.

·           In confession, bow your head and kneel – a posture of humbleness

·           In worship, turn your face toward the sky – a posture of awe

·           When asking for guidance, turn your palms upward – expressing ‘whatever you want Lord’

·          When praying with someone, possible at a restaurant – look them right in the eyes while talking to    God… Father I am s grateful for this person, You know what they need, give them what is required by their  hearts.

·         When praising God, use music to sing prayers.
