Monday Night Rewind

We had a GREAT day at Renovation!

Loved the worship we experienced… we did more of an acoustic feel. I loved being able to hear our voices together. I think it is always good to change things up so we don’t fall into just routine.

We sold out of our MercyMe cd’s that has “Won’t You Be My Love” on it.

We had a bunch of first time guest with us yesterday… I pray ever week that we have folks hanging with us for the first time. It keeps us focused on others and not just ourselves. We have never had a Sunday at Renovation that we haven’t had multiple first time guest and I hope we never do. I hope and pray that inVESTING in people’s lives and in relationships that it just is a natural outcome of who we are as a community of faith.

I thought it would be good for us to take a look back… so that is what we did. A 5 month review on what we have discovered, learned and hopefully began to apply to our lives… here is what we have dived into so far in 2010:

Map Quest/January

God does not give His direction for our consideration and or our contemplation but for our PARTICIPATION.

proverbs 3.5-6

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
6 Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.

proverbs 28.26

He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whoever walks wisely will be DELIVERED.

Remember what we said…

The more familiar you become with the PROVIDENTIAL will of God and the more obedient/surrendered you become to the MORAL will of God the easier it will be for you to discover the PERSONAL will of God.

Fireproof/Feb

How are we doing with the core ingredients that are in every good marriage?

Husbands are you being the servant-leader Christ calls you to be?

Wives are you being the servant-lover Christ calls you to be?

Walk Across the Room/March

Are we thinking with others in mind?

Are we looking for opportunities to move from our circles of comfort to the Zones of the unknown?

Luke 19.10

For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost

The Battle Within/April/May

Guilt says, ‘I owe you,’ so the solution is confession

Jealousy says, ‘God owes me,’ so the solution is to celebrate the one we are jealous toward.

Greed says, ‘I owe me,’ so the solution is to be generous with your time talent treasure.

Anger says, ‘You owe me.’ So the solution is to forgive.

Matthew 15:18-19                                                              But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these defile you. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

Proverbs 4:23  Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
