Letters to the Next President

We have had an incredible 10 weeks of Love Revolution! As I look back we accomplished more than I could ever hope for  and the good thing about LR is that it is just starting. These last ten weeks has been our launch and now we can begin to see and experience all that God wants for our future.

This week begins the weekly LR pledges that so many of us made this past Sunday and I know for many it is a scary thing. How will we be able to give beyond what we thought was ever possible?! I know that’s what has crossed my mind but I also know that it is when we lean not on our own understanding but in all of our ways if we will lean in on God – HE will direct and provide!

This week we will also begin a new 3 week series called Letters to the Next President. This is an historical time in our Nation. Either way it goes a first will happen! I thought it would be important for us to take this time in our country’s history to join many other churches that are partnering together thanks to Andy Stanley to speak into our culture and give some Biblical worldview perspective. It does not matter what side of the political isle you are on – we need to shape our perspective and ideology from GOD’S WORD not pop culture, FOX News, MSNBC, CNN, Oprah or The View – right? RIGHT!

So this series is based on the idea of what if the next President of the United Stated asked you for some advice what would you say? Andy has set up a website for those who would like to actually write a letter to the next president and you can read the letters that have already been written.

We will take the next three weeks and look at three stories from Scripture that give an example of how God used ordinary men to speak into their “political” world and we will see how incredibly relevant they are for our world today BUT NOT only for our political leaders but for every leader however great or small. It is going to be a great 3 weeks so bring somebody with you!
