It’s Saturday Night!

Have you ever been in a learning environment where it excites you, scares you, convicts you, challenges you, makes your head hurt to think about what is being said – that was me this past Thursday  as I listened to Dwight Smith a Missiologist that has been a part of God annointed Church movements around the globe. Dwight has been coming to Buffalo over the past year meeting with local pastors to paint a "new" picture of the PURPOSE of the CHURCH. It is not really a new picture but a fresh look and understanding of the original blueprint that the New Testament writers gave us some two thousand years ago.

What a day – so my head and heart has been swiming for the last couple of days trying to frame it for all of us to understand at Elmwood. It is not something new he said Thursday it is just more "on me" than it was the last time I heard him knock me over the head with it. Elmwood is in a different place and with the real possibility that God is leading us into a deeper level of comittment than we have been up to this point in our brief history I am wanting to be led by the Spirit and wisdom of God, by His Word, by wise counsel, by paying attention and keeping in step.

We are in week 7 of our T-LIFE series and we are talking about the key word SERVING. Dwight could not have come at a better time because he helped me really get what the PURPOSE of the CHurch is and what it is not. SERVING is a key element and I hope I can frame our conversation tomorrow in a way that will help us really get what we – the church at elmwood  is to be in THE CHURCH as God through His Son Jesus Christ is trying to bring ALL people back to Himself.

I hope everyone is still tracking with the 21 Day Challenge – 21 minutes for 21 days before God concerning the possibility of a more permanent home, if you missed a day don't quit – jump back in the next day!

See ya at 9:19!
