How Is It Going?

I hope everybody is trying to accomplish the 10-10-1 project for Easter Sunday!I am finding it good to have several people on my ‘mind’ to pray for. It keeps me thinking about others and I have to admit that is not my natural tendency. My natural inclination seems to always be about me. God is always trying to get me to think differently, more like Him. Easier said than done!

I have had several of our Elmwood family on my mind this week, praying for them. Some of our launch team has really had some difficult situations to have to navigate through these past couple of weeks, death, cancer, brain aneurism… and other really extremely tough circumstances to have to walk through. If you listen to a lot of

he TV religious/personalities you would think we wouldn’t have to deal with these types of things once you become a follower of Christ. Problem is Jesus never said ‘follow me and I will make everything bad, go away.’ Too many examples of just the opposite happening even to Jesus’ friends and companions, Lazarus (good friend), dies, John the Baptist (his cousin) beheaded, all of his best friends the disciples died as martyrs and some really horrifically.  Jesus actually said that bad things are coming… so instead of facing them on your own, let him face the bad stuff with you. That is what Jesus offers us, himself. That is pretty cool. Really looking with anticipation to launch Sunday, April 8! Can’t believe it is almost here. God has been so faithful and incredible through this process. Sometimes I start to panic, God I am not smart enough, nice enough, caring enough, organized enough… to build a church, I hear him whisper back to me, I know – your not, and you won’t (build a church) but I Am (God) and he reminds me that actually he will build his church – he just wants me to obey and do what he has called my to do and he will do the rest. That always seems to take the pressure off!
