Help Us To Do What We Need To Do…

Wow what a crazy day…

Started out this morning bright and early as we had our first Men’s Fraternity meeting @ 6:00AM. It was good to see some old and new faces. Love seeing men coming together and stepping deeper into the journey of manhood no matter what age or season of life.

We had a pretty good turnout last night for our XCEL open house… trying to do all that we can to help families but at some point parents have to engage in the process… always balancing the tension between helping and creating a sense of entitlement.

So appreciative of all the different people and business’s  that have partnered with us over our short history to accomplish what we have especially in renovating the environments on our campus. Seeing it again this week in big ways!

As i was bringing the kids to Renovate Live tonight I saw that TV crews were all on the street that is directly across the street from the Auditorium. I quickly found out it was a murder/suicide.

People were out all over the street… i have walked up and down that street many times and have never seen hardly anyone out… but not tonight. Supposedly this couple were always having domestic violence issues, both struggled with crack addiction… the girlfriend had a little boy that came to SummerJam this summer. Fortunately he was not around when the boyfriend took this 10 yr old boys mother’s life and then the boyfriend took his own life.

That little boy’s life is now changed forever…

We kicked off the evening Men’s Fraternity tonight @ 6:30… had a good group of dudes… I love the Quest for Authentic Manhood. It is a powerful 24 week journey helping guys really become the men God designed them to be…

I wish the man who ended 2 lives today had been given a chance to discover his true calling…design – it wasn’t supposed to end this way but it did.

I am thrilled to see what God is doing  in so many lives at RC… but there are thousands of men, women and children who desperately NEED Jesus who live all around us…

Father God help us to be caring and courageous enough to do what we need to do in order for people to become who You made them to be!
