Happy Thanksgiving!

I love Thanksgiving – I have a lot of good memories of the Thanksgiving season. This week will go down as another great week in my memory. I am still blown away by this past Sunday – the special offering – $1,600, 4 people who took care of eternal business!

Monday morning the Leadership Team went over to True Bethel and helped give away some 200 Turkey dinner with fixin's.

Tuesday I got to spend 5 hours waking around the Westside with Peace in the City Director Mark Cerbone. What a learning experience that was – one I will not soon forget! Just absolutely blown away by what Mark and his wife Diane and the staff of Peace in the City is doing everyday to help redeem a city and bring the LOVE of Jesus to the streets of the Westside. Mark and his family have been living down in the WS for many years now – raising 3 beautiful girls in a dangerous and scary place. That is what I call "paying attention and keeping in step" when it comes to following whever God tells you to go! I have a lot to learn when it comes to trying to understand an urban culture like Buffalo and how to serve the culture with authenticity and love.

Today we had a bunch of Elmwoodites hooking up at True Bethel to help serve a hot thanksgiving dinner to the surrounding community. It is just awesome to see our community of faith serve other churches and people with smiles on their faces.

I hope and pray that everyone has a Blessed Thanksgiving! Gloria has been cooking tonight in order to get ready for tomorrow and it smells great! I am going to take a holiday off of blogging so I will talk at you in a couple of days.

I am so thankful for what God is doing through the community of Elmwood!

Love you guys!
