Great SleepOut

The Buffalo City Mission www.buffalocitymission.org sponsored their first Great SleepOut event last night (which was to help raise awareness for the homeless) and we had 9 students and sponsers involved! It was held at the UB footbal stadium. Mark Cahill www.markcahill.org gave a great challenge about sharing your faith with others and having the courage to do so. It was a great challenge to me and I am sure to our students as well.

The students had to do a service project prior to the event which they did and had to make a homeless shelter for the event. They had a couple of bands play and a great rapper share his testimony through his songs by the name of Tony Bangs. They also had some late night activities and then they (not me) slept out on the football field under the canopy of the stars and a few clouds.

This was our first "official" student event for us and though not many were involved I was proud that we a presence. Big thanks goes out to Byron, Andy, Amanda and Sean for making it happen.Cool

As I have said before, I have a great passion to reach students and children with the life changing, life saving message of Jesus Christ. I want Elmwood to be a community of faith that will sacrifice our time, energy and passion to reach kids before the enemy has captured their hearts and minds and has caused life long damage. I know there are many who share that same passion and desire – so together we can make a SIGNFICANT impact for the Kingdom!
