Friday Morning
Well it has been a big week at the Cockrell household. Caleb turned 9 on Sunday, Canon finallllllllly graduated from preschool on Wednesday and Carlee turned 12 yesterday (and my mom is ? today) and Canon turns 5 on the last Wed. of the month, school is out at Buff St so it's summer vacation for the teacher of the house (that would be Gloria -a.k.a. Elasta-Girl – you had to be at Elmwood Sunday to get that) so wow May is big for us!
The conversation we are going to have Sunday at our Gathering is such a critical principle that if we can "get it" – myself included – it can TRANSFORM our lives and families. Speaking of families – I know that we talk a lot about families and I want to make sure that those who do not fit the "family mold" please don't feel like outcast or that what we are talking about is not relevant. We want you to begin to feel and think like we (Elmwood)can be your family. You just gotta know though that Elmwood is a collection of broken people who are coming into a relationship with the God of the Universe. A God who spoke this world into existence and if He can take what was chaos and unformed back in the day and create this incredible world then He is more than capable of taken us, you and fixing the brokeness in our lives. I say that to say that if you find yourself single, single again, guilt-ridden for past mistakes, crushed from un-met desires and expectations from current or past relationships, lonely, on the verge of walking out whatever your story … we – more importantly God wants you to know that YOU MATTER!
This principle that we are going to drill down into Sunday not only has the power to transform marriages, families but lives in whatever season of life or circumstance you find yourself in – so bring a friend – inVEST and inVITE and let's see what God has for us!
