First Monday of Each Month

On the first Monday of each month our (renovation) leadership team goes up to Crosspoint and we have a combined meeting that is led by my pastor Jerry Gillis. Each team gets to hear stories and wins from a broader perspective which is always good. It is awesome to hear how God is using the CP team to impact thousands of peoples lives in so many ways.

When I joined that team back in the summer of 2001 we had about 1300… this past week they had 5000… that is pretty amazing to see in Buffalo NY!

We had a chance to hear some great wins and we had a chance then to pray with each other… it is easy for any of us to get to narrowly focused on us and lose perspective of a bigger picture that God is doing all around and this monthly experience allows us to regain that perspective. All of our perspectives are incomplete that is why we are to live in community!

Later that afternoon we met back at the Renovation House and walked thru Sunday… we laugh a lot… we share great wins which are not always big to others but we know the back stories so we celebrate them together.

We all celebrated the new team members and how ready they all were for “Super” Sunday as we went from 2 to 3 gatherings and to 2 Renovation Station experiences…

From a numerical perspective we had 147 at the 9.00 and 73 kids in RS… (we have 22 tables w/ 8 at a table set up right now = 172 seats) then we had 169 at the 10.30 with 51 kids in RS… (we have been averaging about 70 kids at just the one time) and then we had 130 at the 12.00 gathering for a total of 570!

To grow from averaging 70 kids to 125 in one week is crazy! This week may play out differently and that is ok but it was an awesome day to see so many come out on a cold miserable morning!!

We had a chance to meet with 2 church planters from Detroit this morning… hearing of the condition of Detroit and their heart to reach that city was incredible. We had a chance to show them around our campus and tell them our God story of Renovation which I never get tired of sharing!

Lets be praying for the city of Detroit… what an incredible opportunity for a city to get in on a front row seat to see God redeem and restore it for His honor and glory.

Let the Gospel/Jesus be proclaimed by word and deed all over our city/country/world!
