Don’t Come to Church…

Wow what a beautiful morning… sun is shinning right now at least and I will take it.

Sometimes I have to take a few days off of the “Connection Zone” you know… blogs…facebook…twitter… so I went silent for  a few days not that many notice but for the few who do…

Sunday was a very cool day as I looked out and saw the “make-up” of Renovation and how God is gathering a diverse group of people. We have talked about it before but I was really feeling based on what our topic of conversation was going to be for Sunday… Justification! Not a very sexy sounding word but boy is it an important truth for us who call ourselves followers of Jesus Christ.

My pray was that I wouldn’t screw it up! That the Holy Spirit would make clear what I could not. For those who missed our Sunday conversation we will have it on our podcast this week and we are making cd copies available for anybody who would like to have one.

We had another 28 first time guest with us!

inVEST and inVITE… inVEST in people’s lives and inVITE them into yours and they will see and find what they are looking for… hope, salvation through Jesus CHrist!

Yes that is right. The people God has placed around you will have a greater chance of discovering Jesus by watching, engaging in your life than they ever will of discovering Him in a building listening to someone (like myself) speak to them.

So Renovation don’t “come to church” … let’s be the church… and as we walk and talk, live, breath next to others through out our week… let’s do it in a way that shows how we are being “renovated” from the inside out.

That means we can’t wait for Sunday to get our “fix”

Everyday let’s carve margin into our lives to hang out with the SOURCE of our Salvation and transformation!

2 Corinthians 5:17-20 (New Living Translation)

17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 20 So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, ‘Come back to God!’
