Convoy of Hope
One of the things that I have asked the Lord to help us with as we have launched Elmwood is to help us partner with existing churches and ministries to help serve and love this community. Of course God is always faithful and there is a great opportunity for us to jump in and help serve those in need in our city.
On August 11 Convoy of Hope www.convoyofhope.org is rolling into the Westside of Buffalo. This is an incredible ministry that is nationwide and beyond that helps feed and take care of the hungry/poor/disadvantaged. Part of what they offer when they come in is not only to feed people physically but also spiritually. This is where we have chosen to jump in. Earl Leatherland our KW Director is going to coordinate the Kids tent at CoH. They told us today that they need around 180 volunteers to help supervise the Kids tent for that day. Normally we would need 6-8 months to coordinate this kind of event but we want to help them share the Gospel and serve these kids in a great way so we have 3 weeks
We need as many people as possible to jump on board and help us with this one day event. I will share in more detail what all the needs are in the days to come, just wanted to get the word out asap so those who can and our here can plan for it.
Can't wait for our first Bisons Night which is this Friday. We sold 150 tickets so it is going to be great to hang out with everybody watching a little baseball and eating peanuts and hotdogs!
