Sunday Night Reflections

Okay everybody who calls Elmwood home (and those thinking about it!) I know you are wondering just how many was here today – are you ready?

506!Surprised

That is right! I can't believe the turnout we had today. It was a HUGE win for so many of you who inVITED friends, family, neighbors, co-workers… I was excited and proud of everybody today for so many reasons let me just name a few -

  • MakeOver team was off – the - hook incredible today! – there was such a buzz at 7:00 AM when everybody was getting there early and you guys carried it all the way to the very end of the morning.
  • Elmwood Expressions you guys were just fantastic – could not be more proud of your hard and excellent work!
  • Greeters – as usual just flat out knocked it out of the park in facilitating our guest and everybody else!
  • Resource/Guest Central team – you guys prepped 150 PopCorn boxes for our guest – I bet we used most of them!
  • MakeOver Team – you guys blow me away every week – today was no different – AMAZING!
  • KW Team – thank you so much for serving the young children today, what a gift to those (us) parents!
  • Parking Team – of course it takes a "special somebody" to tackle the "outside" elements of Buffalo every week – Your the Best!
  • Our special Caroling Team – what an extra – special touch you gave us today – set the "vibe" for the rest of the "experience!"
  • Hey Usher Team way to get it done in a great way! You guys were incredible getting everything handed out and everybody in on time!
  • Every one of you who took the time and inVITED and inVESTED in somebody(s) in order to see them walk through those glass doors today – I was excited for each of you even if I did not get a chance to meet all of your guest!

Special shout out to Earl Leatherland and the entire cast of Jingle Jam! You guys just blew me away. I could have gotten emotional at several spots today while just watching you guys do your thing and blessing everybody by using your gifts and abilities for the King! Who could have thought this time last year we could have had a day like today?

What a day like this shows us Elmwood, is the influence that we have together in our community! God is showing us and extending to us his great favor and I am humbled and blown away by it. If you look at the key characters throughout the Old Testament and see what they do after "wins" you see that when they exhibited an attitude of grattitude they would always stop and thank God – (usually by building an altar) and that is exactly the feeling I have had all afternoon – Thank You Heavenly Father! You have been so good to us and we are a thankful community of faith!

I get fired up just thinking about what God can do with just us ordinary people who are willing to live our lives together in all of our imperfections but obedient to His direction and mission by paying attention and keeping in step to the Holy Spirit!

What an INCREDIBLE Christmas gift! Thank you Jesus!Laughing
