Sunday Night Reflections

Today went by way to fast! I would have loved to of heard the band play and Jenna and Nick sing for a little longer. It seemed like we just got started and I looked at the time and we were already in overtime. I hope that the men today could hear my heart – wasn't meant to be a beat-down but a build-up and a challenge that we can aspire to Finish Strong. This is a conversation that will be ongoing for us at Elmwood.

I did not get to thank everybody for helping with the school supply for PS #65. We will be delivering the supplies this Wednesday. We will also be doing a presentation for all of the kids at 1:45 in the school aud as we introduce the School's virtue for the month – INTIAITIVE – Seeing what needs to be done and doing it! What a great honor it is to partner with Principal Mathews and her staff – please keep them in your prayers.

Can't wait for the new series that starts next week STARTING POINT - I did not get to talk about it this morning – so much for good promotion. We will be printing up invite cards for everybody to use to invite family and friends during this series.

It is very cool to see more and more middleschool and highschool students coming. We are putting some things in place so that our students can connect with each other and begin taking steps together in their walk with the Lord.

I am looking forward to regularly getting together with men at our Men's Fraternity. This year's theme is Quest for Authentic Manhood. We will give new language for us men to speak that will help us better focus so that we can Finish Strong. If anybody needs directions to Crosspoint for this weeks Men's Breakfast go on this link www.thechapelatcrosspoint.com and look for directions. Remember it starts at 7:30 and the cost is $5.

I will order some more of the Fourth Seed devotional's for next week – we sold out – they cost $3 and they are good for 2 months.

I can't believe the energy that is happening before and after our Gathering. Good gracious – really gets me jacked up for what to look forward to this fall. We had 296 today – 79 in KW which always gets me excited. One of the things that we are having to figure out in the near future is going to two gatherings. The main reason is so our KW workers can not only serve but also be in a worship environment every week instead of every other week like they are doing now. I am so thankful for the great people God has brought together for us to do what we are getting the chance to do. That is another reason why EVERYBODY who calls Elmwood home – needs to get INVOLVED!

I don't when but I pray regularly for God to show us where we will plant our next Community of Faith. From day one we have talked about reaching every man woman and child by partnering with existing ministries and planting new churches. One thing that excites me is a new church plant in Springville is launching next Sunday. The launch team has visited with us several times and now we get to to see them launch www.springvillecrossing.org – let's keep them in our prayer's!

Please mark your calendars for a couple of special events that will be coming this fall. Elmwood Family Night at the Buffalo Christian Center – October 3 – this is a night for all of us to come together to connect/eat together/ play together/ pray together. THe cost is $2 a person – we will have the swiming pool open, the gym, skating and we will do a cover dish dinner - the time is 5:30 to 8:00 pm.

Married Life Live will be October 26 at the Forbes Theater in the BCC. I will give more details in the days to come – this is one of my favorite evironments that we create and it is specifically for the equiping and nurturing of our marriages.

Please pray for my grandmother Viola Burrow – my mom's mother – she fell last week and broke her hip and so my mom flew to OK to help her and we got word tonight that they had to take her to the hospital because of a possible stroke. We would appreciate your prayers for both my mom and grandmother.

FINISH STRONG!
