Renovation Week Two!

Wow what a difference a week makes or should I say 30 degrees! It felt like spring out this morning… a balmy 30 with no wind or snow!

Yes today was definitely a little more “together” as far as our systems! We got broke in fast last week so everybody met this week and worked out a few kinks and it seemed to flow really well this morning!

It certainly helps that we have people who are used to hard work when it comes to pulling off a Sunday morning gathering! I looked around today before, during, after our second gathering and just said thank you Father for the people You have called to serve this community. No task is to small or insignificant… I love the culture that Elmwood created for us and that we must continue to expand on… all hands on deck!

Speaking of huge blessings…

  • My pastor, Jerry Gillis got to speak the first “real message” today at Renovation. He knocked it out of the park which I knew he would.
  • The take-away that I will use for my life and hopefully we all will is: There are two stories going on this world.. when we find ourselves living in the wrong story we will end up worshipping the wrong thing(s)… when we find ourselves crossing over and living in the right story… HIStory we end up worshipping the right ONE!
  • As I walked out this morning I observed one of our real Men of God ministering to another husband/wife… putting a hand of encouragement on their shoulder and praying with them… don’t know the issue (don’t need to) but I love that ministry, encouragement happens and it is not predicated on me or one of the “staff.” We want to have a culture at Renovation that every believer is a minster, that we have all been called to minster to the needs of each other… young, old, rich, poor, homeless, college student…
  • So cool to see a group of college students going up and participating in Communion… along with others. Most everything we do at Renovation is an experiment so it is cool to see the different experiences being acted on. (just a note of instruction… please do NOT drink out of the juice cup… just dip your bread in it… we all say thanks:)
  • I love having our Renovation Station Team being able to worship with us! I love you guys and am so thankful for all that you are doing!
  • Way to go Renovation… Meagan told me that they sold a lot of product today… I love that!
  • I loved the song that Jeanine sang with the band at the end of Pastor Jerry’s message called How He Loves. There is a great story behind the song you can check it out here
We had a little over 500 with us today so Renovation way to inVEST and inVITE… those are rRULES and thats how we roll!

Can’t wait for the big Peace of the CIty Christmas Party/Program this Tuesday night! Come and see what God is ALREADY doing through this amazing group of people! Program starts at 7:00 pm… light dinner and tour through the 3rd floor where Peace lives or come early (around 5:00) to help serve!
